Reservations

At the Museum



 

  • Determine your date to visit and reserve buses or plan other transportation.
  • Know your school address; phone; fax; contact person; contact person's phone number; billing address; number of students, teachers, and adult chaperones; and lunch plans.

  • Please have the teacher who's visiting or another responsible adult group leader call for reservations.
  • Make your reservation at least three weeks in advance for your best chance of scheduling your preferred programs, dates, and times. Have alternatives in mind.
  • A confirmation letter will be sent to you that includes payment information; do not send money in advance.


  • Call Reservations at 303.322.7009 or 1.800.925.2250 if you are going to be late to the Museum. There is absolutely no late admittance to Phipps IMAX Theater or Gates Planetarium.
  • Call at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit if you wish to cancel or make changes to your reservation. Groups that cancel with less than two weeks' notice will be charged a cancellation fee for each program.


  • Have your confirmation letter with you.
  • Enter through the school entrance on the south side of the building.
  • Please pay at the school cashiers' desk. Cash (large bills preferably), checks, and credit cards—Visa, MasterCard, and American Express—are accepted.
  • Please have the total number in your group available. Turn in your completed Behavior Expectations Agreement.

At your School




  • Make location arrangements for the program(s). Note: All programs require a stationary location due to the volume of materials used. They also require additional time for set-up and tear-down.

  • Reserve your program at least three weeks in advance. Plan alternative dates and times before calling.
  • A confirmation packet will be sent to you.

  • Please carefully read the confirmation packet you receive with your invoice and call with any questions. Electronic confirmation packets are available upon request.
  • Make arrangements at your site for setting up the program (tables, electrical outlets, AV carts, etc.). These items are listed in your confirmation packet.
  • For payment, mail checks to the Museum payable to DMNS/Finance or call 303.370.6453 to pay with a credit card. Please submit your payment no later than two weeks after the program.
  • If you wish to cancel, call at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit. Groups that cancel with less than two weeks’ notice will be charged a cancellation fee for each program.
