  • A Free Museum Tour: Secrets of the Dioramas (May 25)

    Ever wonder what's real and what's not in the dioramas? Hear amazing stories about the Museum's world-renowned wildlife displays, and how they were made. Tour starts from the 3rd floor central bridge, near "Explore Colorado" Diorama Hall. Tours generally last 30 minutes, but length depends on the interest of the attendees.

    Free with general Museum admission.

  • Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity

    In this Museum-produced show, zip through other-worldly wormholes, experience the creation of the Milky Way Galaxy, and witness the violent death of a star and subsequent birth of a black hole.

  • Cosmic Journey: A Solar System Adventure

    Volcanoes tower 80,000 feet above a barren surface. Monstrous hurricanes rage for 400 years. And multicolored rings sit suspended in air.

    In Cosmic Journey: A Solar System Adventure, travel through our solar system at many times the speed of light, taking in the wonders of the planets and their moons.

  • Deep Sea 3D

    Dive deep and swim with some of the most extraordinary sea creatures ever seen on the IMAX 3D screen! Deep Sea 3D  is an underwater adventure that transports audiences way down below the ocean surface. You will encounter some of nature's mysterious and colorful creatures, from the unusual wolf eel to the giant Pacific octopus to the fearsome-looking sand tiger shark. Discover their peculiar and amazing behavior, and how they rely on one another for survival.

  • Flight of the Butterflies 3D

    Location:  Phipps IMAX Theater, Level 2

    A scientific adventure. A compelling detective story. A stunning sight to see. Flight of the Butterflies 3D is all this and more. Dr. Fred Urquhart spent nearly 40 years working to discover the monarch butterflies’ secret hideaway and solve the mystery of their unique migration path. In this dazzling 3D film, you will experience the inspiring story of this scientist’s passion and see up close the lifecycle of these beautiful creatures. Get a butterfly’s-view of the world as you fly over North America and into the isolated mountaintops in Mexico where you will encounter hundreds of millions of fluttering monarchs.

  • One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure

    One World, One Sky is a brilliant spectacle of light and color that follows Sesame Street's Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a new friend from China. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth. This cross-cultural adventure opens children's eyes to the sky, helping them see how people all over the world are connected.

  • Rocky Mountain Express

    Rocky Mountain Express takes audiences on a steam train journey through the breathtaking vistas of the Canadian Rockies as it tells the epic story of building the nation's first transcontinental railway. The film weaves together spectacular IMAX aerial cinematography, stunning landscapes of the West, archival photographs and maps, and the powerful energy and rhythms of a live steam locomotive.

    This film is presented in 2D.

  • Titans of the Ice Age 3D

    Location:  Phipps IMAX Theater, Level 2

    Titans of the Ice Age 3D transports viewers to the beautiful and otherworldly frozen landscapes of North America, Europe and Asia ten thousand years before modern civilization. Peer through the 3D canvas to an ancient world of ice, the dawn of our species, a time when man shared the tundra with majestic woolly beasts.

    Dazzling computer-generated imagery brings this mysterious era to life -- from saber-toothed cats and cave bears to dire wolves and woolly mammoths -- giants both feared and hunted by prehistoric humans.
